In FTC, strategy is a big part of the game. I know the details aren't released yet, but has your team thought about their strategy yet? Are you going for a defense oriented robot or an offensive one? How will your robot compliment your alliance mate's robot? All these things are hard to predict right now, but definitely worth a little forethought thought.

so either the clue is to not play (unlikely) or it is chess/tic-tac-toe. but as one of my team mates pointed out, surveying what you have and being able to make a quick change to accomodate.
I'm with Aaron, offensive all the way, because if you are able to maneuver enough to play offense, with the rules that are always in place (pinning, ect.) you will be able to maneuver in a way that can be defensive as well.
